Elaine Meltzer, CCC/SLP

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I am excited to begin my 1st year as a Speech/Language Pathologist at Park Vista School.

I received my Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology in 1983, awarded by Queens College (City University of New York). Since that time, I have worked and held licenses from the Department of Health in New York, Iowa, Minnesota and Florida . I was awarded and have held the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association since 1983.

For the past 36 years, my  caseload of diverse learners included students with diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Language Impaired, Speech Impaired (sounds, voice, fluency), Specific Learning Disabled.  Having worked in varied settings, including urban, suburban and rural communities, I feel  fortunate to have gained the experience to serve the students here at Park Vista High School. I am also the mother of 3 adult children ages 25-30. I recognize the challenges parents face and I am here to support you as well.

Students on my caseload will receive their services either in their General/Special Education Classroom, or in a traditional “pull-out” setting.  The needs of the students are alway foremost in determining which setting is most appropriate.  Also, I recognize  the importance for students to be able to “generalize” the skills/strategies we address, in order to maximize their communication skills in all settings.

Please contact me if you have any questions and/or concerns.
